Understanding our practice

A gastroenterologist is a physican who specializes in treating diseases related to the digestive tract. At Northshore, all our doctors are board-certified. We offer diagnosis and treatment for digestive disorders. Gastroenterologists focus on the pancreas, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, esophagus, gallbladder, and liver.

Our team collaborates with referring physicians to assess and effectively treat our patients. Each patient is complemented by our close relationship with Condell Medical Center, the University of Illinois Medical Center, and Vista Health System.

We diagnose and treat any disease of the gastrointestinal tract. Often we see patients for Crohn’s disease, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcers, colon polyps, heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

We offer routine screening as well as consultations for diagnosis of any digestive health concerns you’re having.

From initial consultation to post-procedure follow-up, each member of our board-certified team provides diagnostic surgical procedures and specialized procedures such as Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) to meet the special needs of our patients.
As digestive speciliasts, we now offer medical weight loss treatment. We are one of the first practices in the area to offer the FDA-approved ReShape weight loss balloon. Losing weight is such a difficult process because of the complex biological, genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors involved. We are pleased to offer patients the ability to lose weight effectively, without surgery, using the ReShape balloon. Learn more here.
