Dr. Phillip Chung

Education

Dr. Chung graduated cum laude at the University of Chicago, and was a recipient of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine Research Award. His internship and residency were completed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center thru Harvard Medical School. He completed his fellowship in both Gastroenterology and Hepatology thru the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

Involvement

Dr. Chung is involved in the national medical community, in addition to his full time work at Northshore Center for Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of theAmerican Gastroenterological Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He also holds memberships with the American College of Gastroenterology and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Additionally, Dr. Chung is committed to charity work including Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville, IL.

Expertise

Dr. Chung specializes in treatment of all gastroenterology and liver diseases, with special interest and training in biliary disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, and colorectal carcinoma screening. He is board certified and has received numerous recognitions for his clinical work, including a research grant from the American Cancer Society.
